First, the role of the seat
The valve seat is an important part of the valve, its role mainly has the following aspects:
1. Connect the valve body to the valve cover. The valve seat connects the valve body and the valve cover together, which plays a connecting role and makes the whole valve strong and stable.
2. Secure the spool. The seat usually has a boss that holds the spool in place so that it remains stable.
3. Achieve tightness. Sealing is one of the most important roles of the valve, and the seat is also an important part of the seal. When the spool is closed, the seal ring makes contact with the seat for complete sealing. When the spool is opened, the sealing ring leaves the seat to circulate the medium.
Second, the composition of the seat
The valve seat is generally composed of four parts: the valve body, the sealing ring, the fixer and the boss.
1. Valve body. The valve body of the valve seat is generally made of cast iron, cast steel, stainless steel and other materials. The structure and size of the valve body should be determined according to the use of the valve, the characteristics of the medium, the size of the pipeline, etc.
2. Sealing ring. The sealing ring is the sealing part of the seat, which can be made of rubber, tetrafluoride and other materials. The seal ring is usually threaded to the seat for easy replacement and maintenance.
3. Fixator. The retainer is mainly used to hold the spool and is usually used in combination with the boss of the seat. The retainer can be in the form of bolts, quick fasteners, etc.
4. Boss. The boss of the seat is usually used to hold the spool, and the height and size of the boss are determined according to the shape and size of the spool.
